Roberto Russo, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, learned to play Bandoneon from José Libertella, leader of the famous Sexteto Mayor Tango Orchestra. He is one of the few living Tango musicians who sing and play at a time, giving bandoneons accompaniment to their own voice.
Roberto has been living in Europe for a decade now. As an expressive soloist and with his own band, he has been invited to play on stage in famous theatres, like the Herkulessaal and the Deutsches Theater in Munich, the Burgtheater in Vienna, as well as to the "Festival deTango" in Granada, Spain. From time to time, he performs together with renowned Tango ensembles.
His repertoire includes the whole range of Tango music, as well as his own compositions. Roberto created musical pieces for movies and has been invited as special guest to TV and cinema productions.
